Description

Italian lettuce seeds for growing fresh leafy greens at home, suited to salad lovers, small garden owners and growers. The leaves are tender and light, ready to pick as needed for salads and sandwiches, and the plant grows well in beds, wide pots, balconies and greenhouses. Lettuce prefers mild to cool weather, so in Saudi Arabia it does best in the moderate season with morning sun and shade from the midday heat. Sow in trays or straight into the bed on fine, fertile, well drained soil, cover with a very thin layer, and water with a gentle spray so the seeds stay put. Thin the seedlings once true leaves form, then harvest outer leaves gradually or the whole head, sowing in batches for a steady supply. Seeds are for planting only and are not edible.
